Frequently asked questions
Answers to what people typically ask before booking. If yours isn't here, call or email — we're used to it.
Booking & appointments
Yes. We work by appointment only and don't take walk-ins. Same-day bookings sometimes come up, but they're not reliable — especially on weekends. If you want a specific time slot, booking a few days ahead is advisable.
Use the booking form on our contact page, or call us on +353 1 296 0240. We'll confirm availability and send a booking confirmation by email. The form on this site is an enquiry — it's not a live booking system.
We ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations affect our team directly, so we take this seriously. See the full booking policy for details.
Please let us know as soon as possible. If you arrive late, your appointment may be shortened to avoid running into the next client's slot. We can't always hold the full time if you arrive significantly late.
No refunds are issued after a service has been completed. If something isn't right, we'd rather know about it — contact us and we'll discuss what's possible. All bookings are single in-person appointments, not subscriptions.
Services & treatments
Gel polish is a UV-cured colour coating applied over your natural nail. It's chip-resistant and lasts 2–3 weeks. BIAB (Builder In A Bottle) is a thicker gel that adds structural support to the nail itself — it strengthens weak or brittle nails and allows a bit of length. BIAB is not the same as full extensions; it works with your natural nail. We have a full blog post on this if you want more detail.
Done correctly and removed properly, gel and BIAB shouldn't cause significant damage. The main risk is improper removal — peeling or picking off gel yourself can remove layers of the nail. We'll talk through removal properly. If your nails are already thin or sensitive, mention it at booking and we can advise.
Classic manicure: approximately 45–60 minutes. Gel manicure: 60–75 minutes. BIAB: 75–90 minutes. Nail extensions or nail art will take longer — we'll give you a time estimate at booking. Allow a little buffer either side for your travel plans.
Yes. Nail art starts at €12 per nail. Complex designs on a full set are priced individually. If you have a specific design in mind, send us a reference image when you book — we'll let you know if it's achievable and give you a quote.
No. ManiTheory provides cosmetic nail services only. If you have concerns about a nail condition — fungal infection, ingrown toenails, skin conditions around the nail — please consult a GP, dermatologist or podiatrist.
